State of Oregon does not believe in equal opportunity…

But they do encourage racism, sexism and other prejudice when you want to bid on a state contract.

A friend of a friend wanted to bid on a contract but couldn’t. Seems that because the two owners had equal ownership, they weren’t qualified. The problem? One of the owners was a white male; the other was a white female.

So to get past this obstacle, they had to bring in a third partner (also a white female) to bring them to the minority majority owned business as required by the state of Oregon.

So why is the business all white owned? Because it is a family owned business. It is husband and wife owned but they had to include their daughter as an owner or they weren’t qualified to bid. They have been in business for years! They have a good reputation, clean record, insured and bonded and all the other crap. But that’s not good enough for the state of Oregon. In Oregon you have to be a minority owned business or forget it.

They employ almost exclusively minority staff. All of their staff is legally in the United States and have been thru extensive background checks. Not good enough. You can employ exclusively minority staff but are only qualified to bid if you are a minority owned company.

So explain to me this: Does it matter who owns the company as long as they create jobs and pay their bills and contribute to the local and federal economy? And when does a group cease to be a minority? When they are a majority of the population? If that were the case, Mexicans and blacks in L.A. would not meet the minority qualification.

Is it when you are so pale you can appear to be white?

Does Obama not qualify as a minority because he is half white? Or does he qualify as a minority because his skin is dark.

Can’t we assume he is a white man because his mother was white? Or does he only have to accept his black heritage because of his father’s side of the family?

So here is the problem:

You go to this link and then search for a way to bid on a project. When you find this link you think maybe you clicked on the wrong thing because you aren’t looking to bid on a job as a “Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business” but every time you click a link looking for the rules and requirement you end up here. Then you finally work your way to this link again.

If you want to apply with Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN) then you must do it thru DAS following the requirements of Office of Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business (MWESB)

This eliminates any chance of a white male ever qualifying for the bid.

That is racism at its worst. If this were changed to eliminate any other race, it would be illegal and prosecuted.

No one, including the state or federal government, should be allowed to create rules or laws that are prejudice against any one group of people based on race, sex or religion.

What ever happened to equal rights? This goes well beyond affirmative action.

When a company can not be owned equally by a white male and must be majority owned by a “minority” there is a serious problem. What if it is the white male that is financing the business? What if it is the white male that is taking all the risk on this venture to advance the minority? What does it matter?

Back in the 80’s when I was looking to start a career, my father gave me some advice I wish I had followed.

He said: “Tell them you are Mexican, they can’t prove you aren’t. And then you are eligible for all sorts of minority exclusive jobs, grants and opportunities”.

I have now given this same advice to my son. Why? Because nobody should be treated differently because of the color of their skin and he and I are white as ivory.

The head of a conservative civil liberties organization has a problem with the fact that it's virtually impossible for American consumers to purchase anything that is not made in communist China.

John Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute, has recently released a video commentary entitled "Is America Made in China?" The video explores the economic and moral ramifications of America's increasing dependence on one of the world's most infamous abusers of human rights.

I've written about this in the past and this story just adds more emphasis to my thoughts.

McDonald's does it again

McDonald’s has done it again. First, the company paid $20,000 to become a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and to have a seat on the board of directors. Next, McDonald’s refused a request to remain neutral in the culture war by choosing to promote the gay agenda. Then McDonald’s accused those opposing the gay agenda, including same-sex marriage, of being motivated by hate.

Now we learn that McDonald’s sponsors training for homosexuals on how to promote their agenda among corporations from the inside. Out & Equal™ Workplace Advocates is a national organization devoted to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in the workplace. One of its primary purposes is to train employees how to aggressively promote homosexuality within the company they work for, all the way to the corporate boardroom. Part of last year’s Out & Equal Summit in Washington, DC, (sponsored by McDonald’s) was an organized march into congressional offices demanding same-sex marriage laws be passed.

At the bottom of McDonald’s half-page ad in the Out & Equal Summit booklet is this statement: “From neighborhood to neighborhood, coast to coast and around the world, McDonald’s is proud to celebrate diversity” (homosexuality).

Do those same people forget that SH refused to follow UN orders for investigation and forced many countries to question his motives?
a few months ago, the AP quietly reported (no liberal paper or "news" agency is going to allow the President to be vindicated) the shipment of 550 metric tons of Yellow Cake to Canada for further processing and use. This secretly removed from Iraq because the President and secruity details didn't want the terrorists to try and gain access to it while it was in transport or storage.
Hmmmm... Who's the idiot here? The President that protected the world at his own political demise or the liberal idiot that refuses to believe in America?

A spokesman for McDonald's restaurants says those who oppose same-sex "marriage" are motivated by hate.

Earlier this month, the American Family Association (AFA) called for a boycott of the hamburger giant because of the company's promotion of the homosexual agenda. The AFA took issue with McDonald's refusal to remain neutral in the culture war.

But in a recent Washington Post article, McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman suggested that those who oppose same-sex "marriage" are motivated by hate. However, AFA Founder Don Wildmon disagrees and says McDonald's has bought into rhetoric used by homosexual activists.

"They've said for years and years that if you oppose their lifestyle, then you are a hateful person," notes Wildmon. "We've given McDonald's ample opportunity to stop supporting the homosexual agenda. They have said in no uncertain terms that they are going to go on supporting the homosexual groups and helping the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce go before Congress and lobby for a national right to marry," he points out.

Wildmon adds that most people are unaware of McDonald's cooperation with homosexual activist groups. "All they see is Ronald McDonald and the kids playing," he continues. "We're asking people to tell your neighbors about it. Call your local McDonald's restaurant, be kind and polite, you don't have to be ugly at all, and let the manager know, hey, I'm not coming back until McDonald's stops supporting the homosexual agenda," says Wildmon.

McDonald's donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, in exchange for membership and a seat on the group's board of directors.

McDonald’s: those opposing homosexual marriage motivated by hate
American Family Association (AFA) is boycotting McDonald’s restaurants because of the company’s promotion of the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage. AFA asked McDonald’s to remain neutral in the culture war. McDonald’s refused.

In response to the boycott, McDonald’s spokesman Bill Whitman told the Washington Post that those who oppose homosexuality are motivated by hate, saying that “… hatred has no place in our culture.” McDonald’s has decided to adopt the “hate” theme used by homosexual groups for years.

McDonald’s, as a corporation, is giving the full weight of their corporation in support of the homosexual agenda. McDonald’s donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in exchange for membership and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress in support of homosexual marriage.

McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner said the company will promote issues they approve. “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do.”
